Baptism
Baptism is the Church's way of celebrating and enacting the love of God who first loved us from the moment of our conception. Baptism celebrates a family's and community's experience of that love in the baptized.
According to the Catechism of the Catholic Church, Baptism is one of the three sacraments of Christian Initiation. The faithful born anew by Baptism are strengthened by Confirmation and are then nourished by the Eucharist. Baptism consists in immersing the candidate in water or pouring water over his head while invoking the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Every person not yet baptized is able to receive Baptism. If you have never been baptized, and want to learn more about what it means, check out our RCIA page for more information. |
